ABOUT

New Orleans based Zoe K is a fresh addition to the New Orleans music scene with a remarkable voice that pays tribute to the bygone greats of soul, jazz and blues. With a new album recorded and produced with some of New Orleans’s greatest mainstays, Zoe K’s new offering received reviews such as “a welcomed dose of old school substance and style in an often manufactured, musical landscape”.With her live shows consisting of her compositions from her recently released album, she was invited to perform at the 2019 French Quarter Festival. In between her time in New Orleans, Zoe has also performed shows at iconic venues such as Howlin Wolf, Blue Nile, Maple Leaf and many more.

Zoe K met Mike Bass, bass player of the Trombone Shorty and New Orleans Avenue, in Australia in 2015, marking the beginning of a new musical collaboration. Taking her dazzling collection of new songs ranging from jazz to all-out dirty soul to New Orleans with the support of an already devoted following, and with a rhythm section consisting of Mike Bass (Trombone Shorty) and Terrance Houston (George Porter Jnr), she finally has a pacific-depth, sizzling new album to bring home to the world, following her well received self-titled debut of 2013. Since being based in New Orleans, Zoe has also been a featured vocalist for trumpeter and HBO Treme star Kermit Ruffins. Zoe K has also supported her all time favorite artist, Grammy Award winner Jon Cleary for his sold out Blues Fest Sideshow in Melbourne, Australia. During her time in the USA she has also been invited to perform shows in NYC, another home away from home as her track ‘Put it down’ a single from her album ‘It’s Just What I like’ featured Mister Goldfinger aka Ray Angry. Angry has worked with the best in jazz, R&B, and hip-hop and regularly plays on Jimmy Fallon with The Roots. Put It Down is made it to number #4 in the most requested tracks for AMRAP Regional Charts

Originally from a small Australian country town where marriage and Avon representation were the predominant domains of female aspiration, Zoe K was determined to break the mould. Spurning tradition for turntables, she spent years locked in her room mimicking every Etta James, Erykah Badu, and Ruth Brown record she could find, eventually rising to prominence when she swept up the 1223 ABC Female Vocalist of the Year award in 2009. Her local achievements back in her Aussie soil include performing at festivals such as Woodford Folk Festival, Manly Jazz Festival, Gumball and was also asked to perform at events such as the film premiere of 50 Shades Of Grey at Fox Studios, Sydney and The Archibald Prize Tour. With her hard working, 6 inch pump wearing, have also supported the likes of Renee Geyer, Linda and Vika Bull, Mojo Juju and Imelda May.

Zoe K is currently back in the studio working on new music to be released in the fall.
